Forest Glen Backpacking – Fall Edition

This year, we decided to sneak in one last backpacking trips to the one we usually do at the start of the backpacking season. We had a buddy who was interested in trying it out, so this was mostly to get him out with us! Another friend happened to be visiting us as well and also wanted to join in and see what backpacking was all about!

We were a little concerned it would get TOO cold at night, but it ended up being pretty great. Great hiking weather and although it did dip into the the low 30s at night, we were all prepared for it!

The hike itself was great as well. Lot’s of fall colors and crunchy leaves along the way! Though we had to keep reminding ourselves to look up while hiking to really take in the views!

All of us brought plenty of snacks to go share and enjoy, except no one wanted the nasty sausages….

This time around, a couple of us also went up to the tower and take in the fall colors from above! Which was pretty great! At this point… we were still a couple of miles away from camp – we were all longing for it…but there was still plenty to walk and do (filter water).

Once we arrived at camp, we quickly set up and relaxed for a bit after setting up a fire.

The meal of the night were some philly cheese steaks that were simply, delicious!

The next morning, a few of us got up early, got a fire going and made some breakfast. Although it was pretty cold…we quickly warmed up with the fire!

After eating and packing up, we head out and tackled the rest of our hike back to the car.

Here is a short video of our adventure!
