I’ve been avoiding going to a certain boss for now (Mogh, Lord of Blood) and exploring a few places I had ignored while passing through the Mountaintops of the Giants. One of those places was Castle Sol…
To start with, a couple of Lion Guardians greet you at the entrance…though this isn’t the bad part. At some point in your exploration of the castle… there is a spirit banished knight guy who is absolutely…broken.
I show this picture for a couple of reasons…
- It shows perspective on what level I am and the build I am currently running (bleed build with dual katanas)
- Point out the banished knight that seems to be….a bit broken.
It took me…. A WHILE to figure out a good strategy for this guy and many times of looking over my inventory to see what may help. You CANNOT sneak up to this guy. You cannot snipe him from here (he simply teleports straight to you), and facing him 1:1 is a bit difficult, considering he has what seems to be an 8 move combo that shreds.
What ultimately ended up helping me was crafting plenty of ironjar aromatic – a consumable that uses FP to gain poise, damage negation, and resistances for 40 seconds and more importantly, it breaks the stance of this annoying banished knight when he attacks you.
A couple of downsides to this consumable….you seem to be weaker to lightning and you walk VERY slowly.
Once I figured this out, this guy was a piece of cake. Which is great because right before the boss battle, there is 1 more of these to face.
Unfortunately, not only does Commander Niall (boss) summon 2 banished knights (one of them being this annoying one), but he also has some…dangerous combos. Ultimately, my strategy was to summon my spirits, knock out the 2 knights as quickly as possible, pop a second ironjar aromatic and rush at Commander Niall until he put his foolish ambitions to rest.
